Berry Mulder leads the Frontier Automation program at Shell, looking for new automation technologies that can make the difference in addressing the new frontiers in the energy industry, typically in the area of sensing/IoT and robotics. Beyond the development of those technology, Berry is committed to their sustainable deployment, where the large eco-system of academia, suppliers, service-companies and the end-users collaborate to achieve cost-effective solutions.
After an education as a Chemical Engineer, Berry has had various roles in technology & engineering in Shell and as an entrepreneur. Berry is 46 years and enjoys various hobbies, amongst which are building a fleet of sailing boats and improving energy efficiency & using renewable energy at home.
